Welcome to the official blog of Py4D which is the first plugin which embeds the Python interpreter into CINEMA 4D.

What is Python?
Python is a very high-level, dynamic, object-orientated language which runs on all major hardware and software systems. Python is very easy to use and is similar to C.O.F.F.E.E. which is the script language of CINEMA 4D.

Why Python?
A developer requires a very effective, simple to use, programming language, which is easy to learn for beginners and further on is attractive to all of the experts. Python is famous for its big standard library and  all of the third party modules which you can implement to your project.

I am new to Python, what can I do?
Because Python is very easy to learn you could read a tutorial for beginners, otherwise you can read a book. In the documentation we recommend a bunch of books for python.

Please notice, the current version of Py4D is the first official release. I hadn’t a lot of betatesters and I don’t know how stable it is in the workaday life. I want to increase the stability but I am dependent on your bug reports. MAXON CINEMA 4D contains a bug reporter and I would be very happy if you use it. Otherwise you can post your stuff here in the forum in the category: “Bug reports”.
