Hi,

here I am again. Yesterday I released the first version of Py4D and I am very happy to see that so many people like to see Python in CINEMA 4D. I am glad to see that all systems are still running (otherwise they didn’t wrote me a mail ). I found out that a lot of people know Python or just have heard of it because its already implemented in all the other applications like Maya or Blender.

But it seems there are a lot of beginners who have a big package like Python in CINEMA 4D now, and they don’t know how to start, even the package contains some examples. I will try to make some stuff for beginners which you will get from this blog (please give me some days).

There is one thing which some people didn’t understand. Some of the example files did not work. Thats because you need Thinking Particles and if its not installed on your system, these files doesn’t work. I will try to make a popupbox if a module is missing.

I got several questions which I want to answer here:

What can I do when Py4D will expire on 03/15/2009?
Py4D is so big (at least for me) that I can’t fix all bugs until this date. A few days before your Py4D Version will expire, you can visit this site again and create a new serial which will extend the period for your Py4D Version. Please note, if Py4D has expired, you can’t activate it again. So please generate a new serial in time.

How much will Py4D cost?
When it’s done I will give you an answer but it will be fair – really.

Can I protect the sourcecode of my own plugins?
You can do that with a compiler when Py4D is really done. This compiler will not be available for the beta version.

An update for Py4D is already in progress. See you next time and if you found a bug, please visit the forum and tell me what you have done.
Cheers,

Sebastian
